How do my notes become cue cards?

You mark them. Type # plus a heading and press Return. That line becomes a section, and every section is a card in Cue Mode. It never guesses where to split a pasted document, so cards break exactly where you meant them to.

Can I bring in notes I already have?

Drag them in. PDFs, Word and Pages docs, Markdown, RTF, HTML, plain text, even screenshots. Text is read out of images and PDFs on your Mac, nothing uploaded. There is also an import for Evernote exports and whole folders.
